RIP Doc Watkins, he was quite the character and I can only begin to imagine what he must have seen in his days.

It is the medical car. It allows the doctor to reach the accident very fast with some medical equipment to provide the first aid / emergency procedures until the fully equipped ambulance arrives.

In present days, the F1 medical/doctor's car is a Mercedes C63 AMG Station Wagon
